The following steps are necessary to configure the Real Audio and BorderManager
Setup. Keep in mind that BorderManager 3.0 will not support the newer protocols
and file types. Apply BM35SP3.EXE to BorderManager 3.5 servers; BM36SP1A.EXE
to BorderManager 3.6 servers. Note: Keep in mind that Transparent
Proxy does not work with Real Audio Proxy because there is no Real Audio
Transparent Proxy service available through BorderManager.
1. Turn on Real Audio/RTSP proxy under the Border Manager setup.
2. If your using access control you will need to make an exception for the Real Audio
proxy under the access rules. If you do not use access control then no configuration is
necessary. This is all the configuration that is necessary for BorderManager.
3. The default filters will allow real audio to pass through the proxy, no exception is
needed.
4. The workstation must be able to do DNS resolution.
5. Go to view/preferences under the Real Audio and select the Transport tab. Select the Use
Specified Transports section, under RTSP uncheck attempt to use Multicast and attempt to use UDP.
Make sure Attempt to use TCP for all content is checked. No configuration for PNA.
6. Under the preferences select the proxy tab and check the use RTSP proxy and add
the Private IP address of the BorderManager server with port 9090. Under
HTTP options, check use my web browser's HTTP proxy.
After you follow these steps you should be able to use the Real Audio under the Border Manager proxy configuration.
**You can go to your Proxy Console and select 19 for Application proxies
and display RTSP proxy statistics. You can see how much data is being tunneled
for TCP.
