SIX WAYS, ASTON

1900   2000

Six Ways, Aston, was formed in the 1850s when Victoria Road was built (both these photographs are looking down Victoria Road). The 1900 picture shows new tram lines being laid, with coffee house and bank on either side. Those buildings have long since disappeared, and the tram-line-crossed junction is now an island, pedestrian subway and underpass! The only thing left still standing after 100 years is St Paul's Church (the spire only just visible in the 1900 photo).

Competition!
