This part of Aston has changed radically in recent years. The 1937 photograph shows a bustling, lively community with a mixture of factories and shops (note the old style Belisha beacon to the left) It has now been completely wiped out by the construction of the Aston Expressway, which can be seen to the right of the 2000 photo, leading to the huge island of Dartmouth Circus in the distance.
