MARIE DRYDEN

What was Aston like thirty years ago?

We had to go to the toilet in the back garden, and heat the water to have a bath. It was very hard to make ends meet when I first came over.

Food

My favourite type of food is yam and banana.

What would you do if you won the Lottery?

I might go back a yard (to Jamaica)

What disturbs you most about today's society?

If you are old and sick, people look down on you.

What's the biggest change you've witnessed?

The killing, shooting and looting. The youngsters want to be bad. It's the government's fault because they giving them houses and money. When I was younger I had to work hard for low pay. Also, it was a big thing to discover racism. I'd never heard of racism when I lived in Jamaica.
