Our Story is a multicultural, intergenerational project, based in the Aston area of Birmingham, UK, and funded by Birmingham's City Council.

The project attempts to bring together the young and old, two generations socially segregated and daunted by the unknown territories within each group, and aims to bring the Aston community closer together, merging people and technology in this forever-changing 21st century.

Our Story involved Sister Tree carrying out workshops with local groups in Aston, whether they were centres for senior citizens or schools. These workshops were filmed and photographed by Sinthetic, and material was gathered by both of them so that Maverick TV could design this website.

Central to the project has been the play, devised and performed by Sister Tree, using a combination of multimedia, music, dance, drama and the interviews obtained from all of the workshop participants.

Some of the younger members of the audience have commented on how the performance has raised their awareness of valuing our elders. One of the elders commented on how the production will stand as a model for our society in a variety of ways, due to the fact that the elderly have a lot to offer the community in the way of wisdom, knowledge and experience.

It is hoped that this website will grow, taking on more input from the people of Aston, becoming an online celebration of this corner of Birmingham, UK.
